MISS UNIVERSE 2011: Who Will be the Winner?

Eighty-nine contestants from around the world will compete for the Miss Universe crown on Monday.

Among those competing is Miss USA Alyssa Campanella, an auburn-haired beauty from California, who has been praised for her eloquence, poise and outgoing personality. While no American has been named Miss Universe since Brook Lee won the title in 1997, many are hoping Campanella will bring home the crown.

Other fan favorites include Miss Philippines Shamcey Supsup, Miss Venezuela Vanessa Gonçalves and Miss Mexico Karín Ontiveros.

The reigning Miss Universe is Mexico's Ximena Navarrete. Perhaps she will get to crown her own countrywoman?

Venezuela has a strong legacy at the pageant as the only county to have repeat winners, taking home titles in 2008 and 2009.

Among the seven celebrities judging the swimsuit, evening grown and interview competitions are Real Housewives of Beverly Hills's Adrienne Maloof, journalist Connie Chung and actress Vivica Fox.

The 2011 Miss Universe pageant will air live on NBC Monday from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
